Cadet Construction Update - Week of June 25th, 2012

Pool Restoration Project:

The last details of the pool restoration project are being completed, the space will be cleaned and pool equipment set up in July with the pool filled in early August.

Student Activities Center:

The site preparation is ongoing with the basement fully excavated, site utilities roughly 50% complete, and grading of the new road beginning this week. 

The first of the foundations and and basement walls are going in this week.  Exterior precast wall panels and structural steel are scheduled to arrive in mid July. 

Fun Facts:
  • The full heigh precast panels weight aproximately 25 tons each.
  • The structural steel for the project weighs over 240 tons.
  • The concrete placed on the project will require over 300 concrete trucks.

Cadet Construction Update - Week of June 4th, 2012

Pool Restoration Project:

Construction activity at the pool will be finishing up over the summer.  The east wall has been replaced with new precast panels, the north and south masonry walls have been reinforced with new steel columns, and the interior is being painted, cleaned and prepared for the fall swimming season. 

Student Activities Center:

Construction of the Student Activities Center is underway! Crews are working on clearing the site, installing new underground utilities, grading the new access road off of Mendota Heights Rd, and preparing the building pad for foundations and walls.
